I finished putting your training schedule together last weekend. I simply need to print it out and scan it. I PROMISE I'll do that on Friday. Happy?!

Come In All Runners!

Hey there runners and vino lovers! I'm so ready for this challenge and I know you all are too. Most importantly this allows us to go to town on some great food and wine afterwards and not feel guilty one bit!

Ok, ok... if we just want to head straight to Napa you might be able to pull my arm!

Go team!
The hills of San Francisco won't stop us but they might slow us down a little. I figure I can always walk if it gets too challenging but breakfast afterwards is what counts. And, a side trip to wine country! Anyway, maybe we should skip the race and go straight to Napa.
Go Hannah!

Connected in Houston

I'd like to start by giving a big shout out to Claire, Mom, Brie, Andrea, and Catherine! Without you, I'd never do this. :)

We really have to wait until March to start our program? Boo! I'm ready to start now!

Training Schedule

I will post (if it lets me), a training schedule for Hannah, Andrea, and Catherine (?). In short, it assumes that you don't run at all and slowly builds your mileage up. It is very doable. The program starts the first week of March. Mom, all you need to do is maintain all spring and then you can start that 12 week Hal Higdon program over again in the summer. Brie, you're a pro already.

Welcome to Running For Wine 2008

I'd like to take this opportunity to thank all of you for committing to this endeavor. Not everyone understands what it takes to run and drink your heart out. I'm here to say that by the end of this training period, not only will you be prepared to run a half marathon successfully, but you will also be able to drink all of your competitors under the table. I promise. We'll need to stick by each other after the excitement of the early weeks of training wear off and the hot summer months zap our enthusiasm. If we can make it through August being able to run 7 miles AND drink half a bottle of wine in one sitting with only a buzz, it'll be downhill towards October 18th. So lace up those running shoes, sharpen your cork screw, and get ready for Running for Wine 2008!
